East Hampton House

Type: Residential
Location: East Hampton, New York

The project is a single-family home designed for a wooded lot. The house is defined by a complex, geometric green roof that lifts to create a double-height space positioned further from the entrance. This double-height space allows for a façade composed of full-height glass curtain walls.

An existing oak tree at the rear of the property was preserved and surrounded by glass, integrating the natural landscape into the architecture. The structure is cast-in-place insulated concrete, clad in wood panels on the main façade and left exposed in selected interior and exterior wall sections. The roof’s faceted geometry transpires into the interior ceiling, where it is finished with wood paneling.
