Ariston Flowers & Café

Type: Commercial
Location: 5th Avenue & 14th Street, New York City

Ariston Flowers, a longstanding name in New York City’s floral scene, expanded its presence with a unique concept: a hybrid space that seamlessly blends a flower and plant boutique with a café. Located at the bustling corner of 14th Street and 5th Avenue, this store quickly became one of the most photographed retail environments in the city.

The design takes full advantage of the soaring double-height interiors and expansive storefront, creating an inviting, light-filled environment. A modular metal frame system wraps the perimeter walls, fitted with interchangeable white oak shelves to showcase a dynamic and evolving display of plants and floral arrangements.

A glass-enclosed mezzanine office divides the front retail area from the café at the rear. The café features a custom cast-concrete counter that functions as both a serving station and communal seating area. Additional seating is offered in the rear double-height space and on the mezzanine level above.
The material palette features white oak, steel, concrete, and glass, complemented by furniture imported from Italy.
