Type – Commercial
Location – New York City
As with many New York buildings, our approach began by uncovering and celebrating the historical elements embedded in the structure. In this case, we revealed the original interior steel columns with their decorative capitals and bases, as well as exposed the wood beam and the building’s facade structure. Similar with the other locations, we introduced concrete countertops in a light green hue, a colored cement floor, and a concrete bench to reinforce the store’s grounded aesthetic.
The design of each Bagel Market location is rooted in a sense of solidity and permanence, spaces that feel built to last. While the stores share a common architectural language, the approach avoids repetition. Each space maintains its own identity, prioritizing subtle variation over repetition. Through thoughtful use of materials and color, we establish a visual and spatial continuity across the brand, while allowing every store to stand on its own. The result is a series of environments that are simple, minimal, and enduring.
